My driving force is “how do I do the most good with my work?” …and I can’t think of a better way than supporting (Israel) the country that helps the causes about which I am passionate, explains Craig Dershowitz, Cofounder and CEO of Artists 4 Israel.

 

Artists 4 Israel prevents the spread of anti-Israel bigotry through art and helps communities and people affected by terrorism and hate. Artists 4 Israel’s international network of artists are agents of change who place Art Over Hate. Their creativity and talents beautify society, uplift people and enhance our understanding of Israel. Hate takes many forms: ideologically through words of intolerant speech and calls for BDS or violently through the actions of terrorism and war. Artists 4 Israel combats, solves and heals for both of these extremes.

Their work covers the following categories:

  1. Artist Aid and cultural missions to Israel- bringing contemporary artist to do humanitarian aid project, they in turn become advocates for Israel . Their projects in Graffiti & Street Art, Healing Ink Tattoo Project, International Projects, and Urban and Contemporary Art, and more.

  2. Campus and community Programs-Interactive virtual programs on over ## campuses across the country, and Artists 4 Israel's creative team is responsible for some of the most effective, out of the box programming, especially in response to actions that require immediate attention.

  3. Healing Arts Kits - designed to slow or prevent the onset of new cases of post-traumatic stress disorder in children living under rocket attack or other forms of terrorism by providing psychiatric tools in an artistic and easily accessible way.

Definitions and Clarifications

Righteous Among the Nations- an honorific used by the State of Israel to describe non-Jews who risked their lives during the Holocaust to save Jews from extermination by the Nazis for altruistic reasons. See more on Wikipedia here.

S’derot- is a western Negev city and former development town in the Southern District of Israel, located less than a mile from Gaza  and is notable for being a major target of Qassam rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip. Over the years these attacks have caused millions of dollars in damage and profoundly disrupted daily life, and loss of life. (More on Wikipedia here.)
